I qualified as a Chartered Accountant (SA) in 2003 having completed my articles with Deloitte in Durban. I completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting at the University of Natal (DBN) and a B-Comm degree at the University of Cape Town. I have also completed property related courses through the South African Property Owners Association (SAPOA) and corporate governance training through the Institute of Directors.
My professional experience is quite diverse including investment banking, property and equity finance, audit and financial management, investment evaluation and management, corporate governance, stakeholder management.
I am a co-founder and executive director of Jade Capital Partners (Pty) Ltd (“Jade Capital”), a 100% women owned investment company founded in 2013. The company invests in direct commercial property, property services and industrial companies. Jade Capital achieves its social impact objectives through the Jade Foundation which focuses on education, entrepreneur development and skills development.
Prior to starting Jade Capital, I was a Director within the Real Estate Finance division of Standard Bank heading up the New Business Team where I was a member of the Real Estate Finance Executive Committee (Exco) and the Credit Deal Approval Committee. Prior to that, I was an Investment Banker having held roles as a senior manager in the BEE Finance and Investments division within Standard Bank and as a Corporate Finance Consultant at Investec Bank Limited.
