Candice is an experienced executive, having held various leadership publicly listed and multinational companies across various sectors nationally, regionally and internationally. Her passion is in growing businesses through aligning business strategy with excellence in people management practice whilst creating an inclusive world of work. She was nominated by Future of HR as a finalist for 2019 HR Director of the year at the Future of HR: of the year. In 2021, the CHRO community nominated her for excellence in HR, this award recognises individual leaders who have done xceptional work and was named Young CHRO of the Year. In 2022 Candice was
nominated for CEO of the Year by the Women of Stature Foundation 2023 Awards.

She was nominated in 2023 for selection for the Working Group on discrimination against women and girls, member from African States for the 54th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council; and as a Commissioner for the South-African Human Rights Council respectively. She obtained a Bachelors & Honours degree in Psychology through the University of Johannesburg, an MBA through the University
of Pretoria and a PhD through the Faculty of Commerce at University of Cape Town. Her doctoral research entitled: Understanding the underrepresentation of women in senior management in Africa.

in the context of perpetual practices of exclusion reports on the historical and perpetual practices of exclusion women in Africa experience in progressing their careers through the management ranks. Research respondents (from Africa and worked in Africa) were from: South-Africa, Zambia, Burkina Faso, Kenya, Ghana, Uganda, Lesotho, Senegal, Gabon Republic, Cape Verde, Democratic Republic of Congo, Cameroon, Zimbabwe, Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, and the United Kingdom. The thesis also reports on the systemic nature of exclusion, as well as the costs and sacrifices women endure in their management experiences. These findings are useful for understanding the exclusionary and discriminatory societal and organisational practices, and provide bases from which to construct practical interventions.
