Punki is Banker who holds a CA (SA) and has completed a Masters degree in Financial Management.

Punki joined the bank in 2008 and has held the roles of CFO for the Retail & Business Bank, Head of Transactional Banking, Chief of Staff in Retail Banking, CFO for Distribution Channels and CFO for Card and ConsumerFinance.

Prior to joining Absa, Punki gained a vast experience at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Fedsure and Standard Bank In April 2021, Punki was appointed Interim Group Financial Director for Absa
Bank Limited. In March 2022 Punki was appointed Interim Chief Executive for Retail and Business Bank and in July 2022 Punki was appointed Group Chief Strategy and Sustainability Officer.
