Nomvula Nxumalo entered her role as MiWay’s Head of People and Transformation with almost 2 decades of experience as a Human Capital Consultant and Human Resources Business Partner. Since she joined in 2021, her responsibilities span across Human Resources, Learning & Development and Transformation.
Previously she’s worked for leading industry names such as Sanlam, Axiz and Nedbank, where she honed her skills as an expert in transformational change, conflict resolution, HR metrics and interpersonal communication.
Since her earliest days in the industry, Nomvula proved herself skillful at translating learnings from her theoretical background into tangible, on-the-ground impact. In 2019, she became an Ambassador for the 67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela Day initiative – a movement that has since captured the hearts and minds of many local and international celebrities.
In 2013, she was appointed to the role of Human Resources Business Partner at Telesure Investment Holdings, where she specialised in initiating and driving organisational change in a move to build a more transformed working environment. Over the course of seven years, she achieved several promotions, leading up to her appointment as Telesure’s Senior Group Transformation Manager. Within this role, she was able to plan, lead and manage the group’s strategy on regulatory compliance, establish directives on employee support, promote B-BBEE compliance and manage stakeholder engagement.
Nomvula completed the Leadership Development Program designed for emerging executives in the Insurance Industry, at Henley Business School. And in 2019, she graduated from the Executive Development Program (NQF 8) from the Wits Business School.
