As MD of Niven Postma Inc., I work as a leadership, culture and strategy consultant with clients in South Africa, Australia, the UK and Germany, in industries as diverse as financial services, professional services, oil and gas, media and retail.

I am a visiting lecturer at Henley Business School and on various leadership programmes, where I teach a day long course on “Navigating Office Politics”. I am the author of “If you don’t do politics, politics will do you – A guide to navigating office politics ethically and successfully (and yes it is possible)”.

I am an Associate of Lead with Humanity, an organisation that provides immersive leadership experiences in South Africa, for delegates from all over the world and an Associate of The Networking Company, which offers life changing leadership development programmes, primarily aimed at senior and executive women, across the African continent.

My career is characterised by:

Contribution: I do work that matters and that makes a difference to people, to teams and to society.
Creativity: All my roles have been newly created ones where my only job description and KPIs were 3 words: ‘Figure it out’.
Connection: I build long standing relationships with all manner of people, from business and government leaders to grassroots activists; from illiterate community workers to highly qualified global professionals.

All of this stands me in good stead now as I get to work with clients, challenges and opportunities of all types.
