Mpho Moatshe is currently the General Manager (GM) and Director at Cummins Botswana. She joined the company in 2020 as the Finance controller and was promoted in July 2023 into the GM role, becoming the first female GM.
Mpho has held various roles within the finance and management sectors. With a remarkable tenure spanning eight years at DHL Botswana, followed by another eight years at Atlas Copco, she has held pivotal positions such as Accountant, Finance Manager, and Business Controller. Her one-year stint at the Botswana Qualifications Authority further enriched her expertise before joining Cummins Botswana.
In her current role, Mpho has excelled in fostering stronger relationships with key clients in the mining sector and diversifying revenue streams. Her efforts have stabilized staff turnover and promoted diversity, with a commendable 39% representation of females employees.
She holds designations such as Associate Global Management Accountant (CGMA) and Chartered Management Accountant (CMA) from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) & American Institute of Chartered Accountant (AICPA). Additionally, she is an Associate Certified Public Accountant (ACPA) member awarded by the Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants (BICA).
Outside of work, Mpho is deeply involved in volunteer activities, serving as Treasurer for various organizations including the Botswana Karate Association and the Local Organizing Committee for Africa Karate Championship. She currently chairs the Finance Committee at the Dutch Reformed Church and holds the position of Vice Chairperson for the CIMA Southern Africa Regional Committee.
In her leisure time, Mpho enjoys hiking, gardening, reading, and spending quality time with her family.
