Khanyisa Phika is a highly experienced economist with over 10 years of experience in the public and financial services sectors. She excels at providing impactful insights, developing decision-support tools for the investments community, and crafting macroeconomic narratives that drive organizational success.
She is skilled at analyzing economic, social, and political trends to provide actionable insights on global developments. Khanyisa uses data-driven strategies to inform long-term financial planning, risk management, and investment decisions, ensuring sustainable growth and operational resilience.
Currently, she serves as VP: Credit Portfolio Risk Measurement at ABSA CIB, where she oversees the Credit Risk Management Committee and is developing the Emerging Risk Framework for the Enterprise Risk Management process. In this role, she benchmarks a credit portfolio valued at over R500 billion against macroeconomic and risk indicators, assessing the impact of climate change and transition risks.
Khanyisa is a strong advocate for transformation, sustainability, and inclusive wealth creation, and is actively involved in initiatives that support women in business. She holds leadership positions as Deputy Chairperson of the Association of Black Securities and Investment Professionals (ABSIP) – Women in Focus Committee, and Pillar Head of the CIB Women in Risk Gender Bias and Equity, where she works to promote gender equity and inclusivity in the financial sector.
