Dr Jerry Gule is a Director and Executive Coach at Gule Executive Coaching (Pty) Limited and has had a long passion for transformation, inclusivity, and mainstreaming of women and persons with disabilities in the economy. He is one of the founding members and later served as chairperson of the South African Employers for Disability (SAE4D), a body founded for the purpose of enabling employers to be disability-confident and share practices in hiring, retaining, and ensuring career growth for employees with disabilities. He acts as an advisor on disability integration. Whilst working for an oil major Dr Gule was part of a core team that put together an oil industry-wide Women in Leadership Development programme.
He was, until recently, the CEO of the Institute of People Management (IPM). He is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors, Southern Africa. Dr Gule is a staunch supporter of people development and is an experienced HR professional who has practiced his craft in different organizations and sectors. He is passionate about supporting the growth of emerging businesses as these can potentially grow economies and jobs.
Dr Gule is often invited to speak at conferences and special events. He has participated in the global Inspiring Workplaces platform and received rave reviews. He is listed as one of the Top 100 Inspiring Workplace Influencers.
Dr Gule is Chairperson of the Love Trust, a charity organization serving underprivileged children in Johannesburg, especially in Tembisa. He serves as a Non-Executive Director in a couple of organizations including being Chairperson of Boards and a Remuneration Committee in a leading financial services organization.
Interesting Facts:
- He & Dr Gugu Gule, his wife, have three children and two grandsons – Lulu (17 years) and Sakhile (2 years and 7 months).
- Gugu and Jerry held the celebration of their 40 years of marriage in January 2023 having been married in the presence of three marriage officers, the Vice Chancellor of their alma mater, and happy and curious friends and family on a wintry day in July 1982.
