David is an internationally experienced, business-orientated senior Human Resources leader with a proud and successful performance track record throughout his career. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Psychology and isiZulu from the University of the Witwatersrand, and an honours degree in Industrial Psychology from the University of South Africa.
David is currently the Chief Human Resources Officer for RCL FOODS where he has worked for the past eight years. Prior to that David spent the majority of his career with Unilever and also worked as an independent consultant for several years.
Over the course of 25 years, David has developed strong capability in the areas of organisational development, talent management, performance management, culture transformation and employee engagement. As a senior HR professional, he has successfully created and led numerous strategies and interventions that have added value to the businesses he has been part of. He has also led several large projects in the areas of business process outsourcing, enterprise resource planning systems, and greenfield head office development.
Key achievements from these efforts have included the enhancement and acceleration of talent pipelines to ensure business continuity and growth, large-scale organisation transformation to leverage savings and improve effectiveness, the design and activation of performance management philosophies to drive enduring business delivery, and numerous bespoke culture and team interventions to improve advocacy and ensure the right behaviours to win.
Apart from his professional expertise David has a reputation as an authentic, engaging and creative leader, traits he has consistently drawn on and which he believes are the cornerstone of his achievements. He is a father to two daughters, Sophie and Tori, and a proud South African.
