Charlene has over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, beginning her career as a call center agent at Standard Bank Insurance Brokers. She advanced to a provincial consultant role, servicing retail bank branches, and later became a skills development specialist, focusing on learning and development, including the INSETA learnership at SBIB.

Charlene then joined the Telesure Group under Auto and General as a Broker Consultant. She transitioned into operations, managing partner agreements and commissions, before moving on to become the National Broker Operations Manager at MiWay. After successfully enabling the growth of the Broker channel, Charlene was promoted to General Manager of the division in 2022, and then to Head of Broker and Outsource Partners in 2023.

In January 2024, Charlene embraced a new challenge, taking on the role of Head of Sales Operations at MiWay. She holds a diploma in Criminal Justice and Forensic Investigation from the University of Johannesburg and completed a management qualification at GIBS. Charlene has also gained valuable insights from her extensive experience in the industry, often referred to as attending the “school of life.”
