Business Engage Champions Gender Mainstreaming Across the Continent

Through dreams and determination Business Engage expanded to the rest of Africa.
The Business Engage East Africa representative team invited esteemed corporate individuals to the launch of the Gender Mainstreaming Awards, held in Nairobi recently.

Invitees who attended were selected based on their significant influence and demonstrated capacity to effect meaningful change in gender mainstreaming.

The meeting covered The Gender Mainstreaming Awards (GMA), where and how they started, as well as the benefits to individuals and companies.
Gender Mainstreaming is a powerful concept in the corporate world, and GMA proudly returns for its 12th award event across Africa.
The awards inspire corporations and individuals to embrace gender mainstreaming as a strategic imperative.

In collaboration inter alia with Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE), RCL FOODS, AECI, Assupol, and Rand Merchant Bank, the 2024 Africa Gender Mainstreaming Awards aims to elevate Africa as the focal point of gender mainstreaming success.
Making contributions and work ethics count by honouring those who have made inroads and contributions to gender mainstreaming.
The previous finalists and winners have shown and are leading by example, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to fostering diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in the African business arena.

Each year the number of participants grow, especially now with the new geographical coverage.
With a distinguished panel of judges, the Gender Mainstreaming Awards stand as a testament to the commitment to gender mainstreaming in South, East, and West Africa.

Entries for the Gender Mainstreaming Awards are open until May 31, 2024. We invite businesses across East Africa to showcase their gender mainstreaming initiatives.
Past winners include multinational organisations such as Vodacom, EY, RMB, Bamburi Cement, Tiger Brands, East African Breweries, and Cummins Africa Middle East.
