Michelle Swanepoel is the Head for Securities Services in Africa and Regional Head for Business Account Management for the Securities Services business across AME (Africa and Middle East) region. With 22 years’ experience in the industry, and a collaborative and partnership approach to client management Michelle is a trusted and sought-after advisor to the industry’s domestic, regional and international clients. Michelle’s extensive client experience and consistent success in executing complex initiatives makes her a strong contributor to planning and decision-making within Standard Chartered. Michelle has been instrumental in identifying business development opportunities and spearheading successful market penetration and product initiatives for domestic and international clients across the Africa region.

Michelle joined Standard Chartered in September 2017 bringing deep client and industry relationships and credible industry experience, market expertise and product knowledge. Michelle’s experience spans product development, sales, relationship management and client service within the securities services industry.

Michelle is an avid cook and loves the South Africa outdoors. She has recently started boxing classes which she loves. Her spare time is spent predominantly with her two young sons and husband.
