I am living in my “gift season”. Longevity has created the opportunity for us to live longer than our parents and grandparents. As you navigate the second half of life, celebrate this GIFT.

I found myself at a personal crossroads at age 50. I was working for a wonderful company, and it was sold. The company moved to another city and I needed to start imagining what would be next for me. I had been divorced for more than 10 years, my children had left the nest and I needed to create my NEXT CHAPTER. This was where my interest in longevity allowed me to create a new future for myself. I went back to study and started my own company called Refirement Network.

My early career had been in the parenting and early childhood sector. I helped lead and grow two companies in this space and will forever be an advocate around the importance of the first seven years of life.

In 2018, we created 50Plus-Skills. A place where individuals over fifty can join a community to learn, serve and earn. I used my own experience, skills and deep understanding and have created courses and coaching that we facilitate for individuals and older employees navigating their NEXT CHAPTER.

I am a passionate South African and through our work, we hope to create bridges that connect the generations and allow all citizens to have the opportunity to work for longer, serve in their community and continue a journey of lifelong learning.

At 50Plus-Skills, we believe that companies need to create ways to continue to engage and serve the over 50 market. This market is growing and there are many new opportunities to market and engage with this demographic group. They have money, time, skills and experience.

I am a proud grandmother of four teenagers, living in Thailand and London. I love to travel and connect with my family and friends both locally and internationally. I am a committed Christian and enjoy being involved in my local church and wider community.
