From humble beginnings, David a son of an immigrant, navigated his way through life from working in a butchery, driving the odd truck to becoming an accomplished psychologist, endurance athlete and committed family man.

In his journey he discovered his ability to inspire people to reach their full potential with his “It is closer than you think” philosophy. David’s natural animated story telling style is both smart and humorous. He is undoubtedly a master communicator who can lift audiences to laughter and bring them to serious insights within mere minutes.

He specialises in delivering key messages on behalf of clients in a down to earth style that audiences can easily relate to, motivating and inspiring others.

PROFESSIONAL | A psychologist by formal training, David is a must for a fresh take on bringing individuals and groups closer to their full potential. David can custom design and implement effective and easily applicable strategies to improve personal performance and organisational optimisation.

FAMILY | As a father of 3 and happily married for 17 years, his passion is to impact families and facilitate synergy and unity in life’s most precious relationships. He has an unparalleled ability to bring audiences back to their essential and often forgotten core values and desired outcomes. Personal integrity and clarity of purpose are just two of his favourite starting points in dealing with families and relationships in general.

SPORTS | A multiple sub 3-hour marathon runner. Dave has visited the podium on several occasions in the trail running and mountain biking worlds. All from someone who hardly took part in sport at school!

Personal change and inner strength are what he has learnt to practice personally and to teach to great effect.

Topic: Love and Respect

If you have ever wondered if the world’s creator has a sense of humour, examine the complexities between the genders.

Dr Emerson Eggerich’s book: ‘Love and Respect’ informs the initial basis of this talk. The book emanates from a body of research initially intended to explore core differences between men and women. Questionnaires designed to do so showed, unintentionally, how one question seemed to divide the sexes. The question was: “If you could only have one of the following, which would you choose; to be loved OR to be respected?”

The resulting response ratio’s spawned one of the only two books I have ever seen change marriages in my 22 years as a practicing psychologist.
It puts into a new perspective not only the concept of marriage, but also the great power in the differences between men and women, and how these differences should not be negated, but rather celebrated and better understood.

In a world where gender differences are misunderstood and even vilified, we will use humour and insight to make sense of the powers and wonders of women and men.

We will explore Dr Eggerich’s book briefly and how it applies to the work and family world, unlocking new perspectives on an ancient design.
