Pertunia is passionate about empowerment and women’s leadership as well as mentorship. She is currently formally mentoring two young black females at WesBank and one black female who she met at the 30% Club networking session and a male that made the request via the mentoring EVP on the FNB app . Pertunia hails from a township in Witbank, Mpumalanga. Born to the late Reuben Sibanyoni, a mechanic and transport business owner and domestic worker turned businesswoman Meidjie Sibanyoni, Pertunia is the fifth out of six children. As a young girl, she always had a
curious but eager-to-succeed approach. She did things outside the norm and being daddy’s little girl, this afforded her the opportunity to be much bolder and have the drive to follow her dreams.

She is a proud mother to her only son, ten-year-old Akhumzi, popularly known as “AK”, who has been her mini pillar of strength. He inspired her to take up Latin American dancing professionally. AK himself has been successful in many provincial, national and international hip hop only competitions. He has also appeared on the national television show: eTV Great Expectations Little Stars as well as on SABC. He has also featured as a dancer for two hip hop artists. He currently holds the 2018 Tiny Tots Gauteng and both under 11 SA and World Title Circuit Hip Hop Champion titles as he represented South Africa in Turkey.

She is well rounded in that she manages to effectively integrate personal and professional aspects of life and ensures that she makes time for family and friends. Pertunia has numerous outside interests, which include physical, intellectual, community and creative pursuits. Sibanyoni plays netball and started a netball league at WesBank. She is also a Professional Latin American dancer and plays golf. She’s crazy about sports cars and Italian shoes.
