Emma (she/her) is a partner of PwC South Africa, PwC Africa’s Operational Restructuring Leader and the Global Head of People for PwC Business Recovery Services. She has contributed as part of the PwC leadership in the United Kingdom, Canada and South Africa firms, having spent 19 years in total with the global PwC
network.  Her global advisory experience at PwC focuses on business underperformance and recovery with expertise in value protection, turnaround, leadership mobilisation, operating model restructuring, cost management and cost reduction.  Her team of engineers, data scientists and strategists focus on businesses facing underperformance and leadership teams seeking to strategise, mobilise, solve and execute across a performance turnaround journey.  Emma’s prior experience serving in the British Army brings to her work a different insight to teams and ways of working through complex changes.
Emma is a passionate and authentic leader with a deeply invested interest in creating inclusive environments within which her peers and staff can thrive.  While she never set out as a role model, her advocacy on equal rights, shaping parental leave policy and speaking publicly about her fertility issues has resulted in her prominent visibly as an out leader both within PwC and externally.  She has had the privilege of inspiring many in her capacity as a profiled key-note speaker, podcaster, coach, mentor and executive sponsor for PwC Africa’s LGBTQ+ inclusion network.  She has just celebrated her 10-year anniversary of marriage to Kate and is a proud mother to Imogen (8) and Arthur (2).
Emma was featured in the Top 50 Inspirational list by PwC in 2022 and was RMB’s Africa’s Fearless Thinker Award Finalist in 2024.
