Anél’s career history encompasses a wide spectrum of disciplines. For the first 14 years of her career she managed various interest rate, equity, and option trading desks, before leading a multi-disciplinary desk.
In 2005, her career changed direction. She spent five years as Head of Risk for Nedbank Capital. After a short stint as Head of Strategy and then acting CFO, she was appointment COO in 2011. She acquired diverse experience in the field of Finance, Operations, Strategy, HR, Marketing and IT for trading activities.
In 2015, the Treasury and Global Markets businesses were combined as Markets, when Nedbank Capital and Corporate merged. Anél was appointed as Managing Executive for Markets. This business manages the liquidity and funding of the bank as well as the trading activities across all asset classes. Over the last five years this business has grown consistently, increased market presence, and became an employer of choice.
During this time, Anél also acted as Executive for Coverage, where she designed and implemented a client strategy for NCIB.
She has accumulated a wealth of knowledge across a wide variety of technical and leadership fields. This enables her to draw from different disciplines to solve problems in a creative and efficient manner. She is delivery focused, follows through on actions, and is stimulated by challenges, creative problem solving and new experiences.
In April 2020, she was appointed Group Managing Executive of Nedbank CIB and a member of the Nedbank Group Exco.
